Maintenance Supervisor/ Maintenance Team Leader required for our client who is a leading manufacturing company and they require several Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Team Leaders to join their expanding Maintenance Team.

The role in definition is "managerial" with direction being given to a technical team and expectation to report to the Department Manager. Your duties will include supervising a small team of engineers, ensuring minimum plant downtime and subsequent optimisation of plant performance.

Applicants will have a recognized engineering qualification or served a formal engineering apprenticeship. Previous experience as a maintenance engineer / maintenance team leader on high volume production machinery is essential together with experience of the following:

Experience within a manufacturing environment
Experience of maintaining packaging equipment / conveyors
Electrical Maintenance / Fault Finding / Installation
General Facilities / Building Maintenance
Maintenance and repair of production equipment.
Knowledge of PLC / Industrial Control Systems

Responsibilities:

- To oversee the maintenance plans and schedules, ensuring each are adhered to and delivered in a timely manner.
- Resolving technical issues and problem solving would be a daily occurrence
- Projects would also be scoped and delivered for improvement or statutory needs and completed with documentation
- Company policies and procedures are to be adhered to and implemented in a consistent way (i.e. appraisals or other policies)
- Controls, behaviours and accountability will be demonstrated through the appropriate performance indicators, also driven by TQM or other requirements

You will possess the following:

- Experience of operating across all levels of the organisation and able to manage a team are highly desirable
- The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and will have proven focus on continuous improvement and delivery
- Strong man management skills will be required to carry out this role, therefore this experience is essential

- Special attention will be given to items such as budget controls and other aspects of business management
You will need to have excellent analysis skills and will be expected to quickly and efficiently respond to problems and find solutions. As such you will also be comfortable working to tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations
