Stress Engineer- Concessions

We are seeking a Stress Engineer - Concessions for a leading Landing Gear organisation based in Gloucester.

Job Description:

You will be a responsible for the Stress engineering evaluation of the production and in service concessions, in order to determine the acceptability of a Mechanical component/assembly. You will be part of an existing Concession team.

Technical Profile:

?? Respond to Production Non-conformance Repairs/In Service Repair concessions.
?? Perform static analysis (hand calculations) and fatigue for metallic structures.
?? Ensure quality of deliveries.
?? Capability to understand and assimilate formal product requirements into engineering boundary/loading variables.
?? Capability to produce clear and concise documentation including technical reports and support the knowledge management.
?? Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and related thermal treatments, material protections and coatings.
?? Perform stress analysis of Repair schemes.

Essential skills:

?? Experience with Landing Gear.
?? Good experience with hand calculations.
?? Working experience with some of the following software: CATIA V5 / Mathcad / ABAQUS (POST/PRE) / Nastran Patran.
?? Strong sense of ownership.
?? Must demonstrate good time management with ability to prioritise and multitask on several work packages concurrently on tight timescales.
?? Ability to work to tight, demanding deadlines and customer demands.
?? Team spirit/Ability to work effectively within an integrated project team.
?? Customer focused/Ability to establish credibility with internal and external customers.
?? Self-motivated and able to take responsibility for own work within a team.
?? Good verbal and written communication skills.
?? Ability to work effectively within an integrated project team.
?? Ability to work with international teams.

Desirable technical skills:

?? Aircraft / Ground Transportation experience

Qualification & Skills:

Degree level, MEng preferred in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience/combined education. 3 years of experience in the skills mentioned above.
UK National to be involved in Military as well as Civil projects.
