Workshop Supervisor- Fleet of Large Vehicles

Salary: ??31,352 per annum

Hours: Rotating Shift Pattern: 06.00-14.00 & 15.00 - 23.00

Basic Purpose of Role

To ensure strong teams are built in the depot, by consistently delivering a great service everyday, in order to delight and exceed the customer expectations and ensuring the customer receives a safe and reliable service.

To ensure that all maintenance and servicing is carried out within time and budget, maintaining health and safety standards.

To ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures and legislative framework.

Main Duties

*
To monitor the daily running of the depot and all engineering staff, and supervising in the absence of the Workshop Planner and Engineering Supervisor

*
To carry out repairs and diagnosis on vehicles as required.

*
To ensure the fleet is maintained to the Group Standard and carry out audits as required.

*
To fully comply with all HS & E legislation along with Group policies.

*
To fully comply with all relevant Engineering SOPs.

*
To provide guidance to other staff as required.

*
To communicate effectively with colleagues and managers, encouraging teamwork.

*
Maintain and develop technical skills as required.

*
To allocate planned and unplanned work to engineering staff.

*
To control labour overtime in line with set authorisation limits, as set by Engineering Manager.

*
To maximise staff productivity, in line with the plan in place, through effective and efficient management of resources within the workshop.

*
Ensuring staff comply with set authorisation procedures with respect to materials.

*
Ensure the engineering vehicle status board and daily garage log are updated to reflect any changes that take place.

*
Liaise with the operations department to deal with changeovers and breakdowns in the most effective way to minimise lost mileage, in parallel with meeting health and safety requirements.

*
Ensure diagnosis and repair of reoccurring vehicle defects as identified by the local engineering manager.

*
Carry out audits in line with engineering standard operating procedure SOP.

*
In the absence of the Cleaning Controller, control of vehicle cleaning, fuelling, oil checks and parking in line with central engineering standard operating procedures.

*
Processing vehicle defect cards in line with engineering standard operating procedures.

*
To liaise with external contractors for any workshop plant and

*
equipment emergency call outs, as required in Supervisor or Workshop

*
Planner's absence.

*
Take digital photographs of any vehicle involved in a third party incident in line with engineering standard operating procedures as required.

*
To ensure all labour hours and material issues are recorded for specific workshop activities on works orders in line with engineering standard operating procedures, ensuring no parts are booked out of stores without a work order or fleet number with the correct WBS (Reason code).

*
To ensure parts replaced under warranty are returned to stores fully labelled and in a clean condition.

*
To adhere to good housekeeping practices including general tidiness in the workshop and the return of all tools and equipment to their designated place.

Special Working Conditions

To work shifts and weekends and to be available to work at short notice if required.
