Senior Design Engineer / Design Manager / Design Team Leader required for exciting opportunity with my client who are a leading design and manufacturer of special purpose and automation equipment.
The role will suit a conceptually strong design engineer who has a strong mechanical design background and thrives working on technically challenging projects.
The company are very successful with an excellent reputation for innovation and delivering turnkey projects.
There are options for someone who is either looking for a hands on management role or to join as a Senior Design Engineer with view to people management responsibility in the future.
Responsibilities & accountability:
- Provide coordination, structure and leadership to all aspects of the design activity.
- Ensure all design work is completed within defined project timescales and budgets.
- Identify and advise on the most effective and appropriate design tools for the department; including hardware, software, upgrades and new technologies.
- Support internal project meetings, sales handovers and design reviews as required.
- Plan the Design resource against current and projected work schedules, including recruitment of contract and / or permanent staff.
- Provide guidance and support to the design team from conceptual designs through to completed design packages.
- Issue design packages to appropriate departments in accordance with ISO procedures.
- Carry out design risk assessments and ensure conformance to latest standards and procedures.
- Support the procurement and manufacturing engineering activities
- Support the preparation of CE manual documentation
As Senior Design Engineer / Design Manager / Design Team Leader you will have the following background experience:
- Excellent conceptual design experience
- Systems design experience
- Inventor would be an advantage
