The Opportunity

One of our long-standing partners requires the skills and expertise of an established and Area Sales Manager. The company is a global leader in automation and process control technology, operating from over 20 offices worldwide with a global turnover of ??600 Million. The company offers turnkey automation solutions to a multitude of industries including, but not limited to, Packaging, Food and Beverage, Handling and Robotics, Automotive and Textiles. The company are targeting 20% organic growth next year and to help achieve this are looking to bring on board a number of key personal to help strengthen and grow their sales team. The company truly understand that the development, enthusiasm and active involvement of all employees is essential to reach this ambitious growth target. They are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion and drive to provide a truly competent technical service and the highest quality product.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager (South), this is a new and exciting position within the company and will be the first piece of the jigsaw in an exciting new venture. The person will help develop partnerships with both OEM's and end users in growth markets supplying automation solutions. As an Area Sales Manager, you will be expected to have proven experience in a similar technical role within the control and automation industry. Ideally technical solutions into large OEM or End-users who are active in the following industries: FMCG, Food, Beverage, Packaging, Paper, and Pharma. You will be expected to work closely with the Regional Manager (South) to help establish an effective strategy to looking at routes to market, strategic goals, building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, and maintaining existing relationship through visits, quotations, new product introductions and general account management.

On a daily basis you will be expected to:

* Identify new potential customers
* Win new customers
* Convert won opportunities into series production
* Manage the relationships with existing accounts
* Achieve sales budget for your designated sales region
* Complete all agreed actions from sales meetings
* Use CRM as the basis for all structured sales activities
* Represent B&R in a professional manner at UK and International exhibitions
* Create a structured and reasoned annual budget for series customers
* Work with a "Target Customer" focussed prospect pipeline
* Report to the General Manager a monthly activity results sheet

The Person

You will be a confident, professional and technically minded Area Sales Manager with extensive experience in Automation/Drives solution sales to OEM's. You will have 5-10+ years' experience of working in a Technical Sales or Business Development role and you will come back a technical background.

* Qualifications: Minimum requirements HNC/HND Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
