Are you a budding designer? We are seeking a trainee design engineer for a company based in Taunton. Opportunities like this don't come around too often as the company are looking to fully train and develop an individual who can demonstrate a desire to start their design career.
The role will involve producing high quality drawings on the company's bespoke design software for use both on site and in the factory for manufacture. As you will be liaising with customers and construction professionals, good communication skills and a professional telephone manner are essential. The role is fast paced and will require a "right first time" approach in order to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction are guaranteed.
Full training will be given, both on the job and in conjunction with specialist CAD software courses. You will need to demonstrate your ability to work both on your own initiative and as part of the team. Strong numerical ability and good commercial awareness will also be required.
To apply you will need to possess a GCSE C grade (or equivalent) in any design related discipline along with both Maths and English. We are looking for people that are keen to learn, want to build a career in design and most importantly can demonstrate excellent visual-spatial ability (the ability to mentally manipulate 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional and 4-dimensional figures). If this sounds like you please apply below! Due to the high level of anticipated applications for this role we will only be able to respond to those applicants whose skills and experience closely match the role requirements.
