This is an opportunity to join a UK innovative digital application technology company working on digital identity and identity management, data management and big data working on projects related to the Internet of Things and Identity as a Service. They are an expanding company with some very interesting projects ahead that include pioneering work with some of the country's top organisations.

They are looking for a person with Web Application Full Stack Development experience to help build upon their two main existing web-based products: Digital Log Book and Home Log Book. Ideally you'll be skilled in Java1.7+, Spring Framework or similar and HTML5, CSS2+ and JQuery.

The position will be based in their Birmingham (UK) office with an average day involving work on updates and fixes to their applications plus the creation of new system parts and answering support emails. You may also be involved in gathering requirements from clients or discussing solutions with them via email, telephone calls or meetings. The role will require you to travel to their Edinburgh office for training purposes.

They are also looking to rebuild their main applications and will expect you to be have extensive input into that process. You will, therefore, be confident in technical discussion and proficient in making your views heard in a constructive manner.

They expect you to have good to excellent working knowledge of the following:
- Spring Framework, particularly version 3+ of Spring's Batch, Core, Profiles, Security, Tiles and MVC modules.
- Java 1.7+.
- HTML5, CSS2+ (LESS), JavaScript (especially jQuery).
- Designing for user experience, as well as the ability to create user-friendly interfaces.
- Creation of responsive designs.
- Written and spoken English essential.

Experience in any of the following is also desirable but not mandatory:
- Unix/Linux/FreeBSD - server management, scripting, cron, etc.
- Graphics programs such as GIMP, for example.
- Web Services (all flavours)
- Creation, upkeep and maintenance of APIs.
