This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, committed team, working in a busy and vibrant environment.  The role involves looking after designated areas of the college, both within the main college site and external properties located nearby, supervising and maintaining the performance of the Housekeeping staff within the department.

TEMPORARY HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
Location: Cambridge
Full time, 37.5 hours per week (
Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day with an unpaid half-hour lunch break)
Nine-month fixed-term contract
Salary is £18,158.03 per annum pro rata

The Accommodation & Housekeeping Department normally consists of the Accommodation & Housekeeping Manager, Deputy Accommodation & Housekeeping Manager, 2 Supervisors, Linenkeeper/Teamleader, 24 Housekeepers and 4 House Porters. Due to the extended absence of the Accommodation & Housekeeping Manager, our client is seeking an additional Supervisor to support the Deputy Accommodation & Housekeeping Manager, currently Acting Manager, and her supervisory team to manage the workload and ensure that college standards in all aspects of the department’s work are met.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic and have previous supervisory experience in a housekeeping environment.  Experience of working in a hotel, residential educational or conference environment or similar is highly desirable.

A flexible approach to normal working hours is essential and some weekend working will be required, particularly during conference periods.  The temporary Housekeeping Supervisor will be appointed on a fixed-term contract for nine months in the first instance.
