Quantity Surveyor (Construction) BLUQ42940

Rochdale

Competitive Package offered subject to experience

Our client is a group of companies and is well established within the construction and environmental sectors and operates through five main divisions.  Their activities span construction, land reclamation, public realm and environmental works, developments, and plant hire and service.

They now have an opportunity available for a Quantity Surveyor to join them to work on design and build projects within General Contracting Section for a main contractor.

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring all team members understand project accountabilities and objectives and will produce cashflows, cost/value reconciliations, valuations, and final accounts.

Whilst procuring subcontractors from Approved Supply Chain in liaison with Estimators, you will liaise with the client and project teams to maximise financial returns and delight the clients.

In addition, you will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of internal and external tender strategies/build up and will agree external valuations/cash flow to maximise project value.  You will also provide financial and contractual advice to your site teams.

In order to be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience working for a main contractor on projects with values in the range from £1-5million. A reasonable understanding of the construction process is also important as you will provide input to value engineering opportunities.

A degree in a Quantity Surveying or Construction related subject would be advantageous.

As an effective communicator with a positive, and passionate approach, you will have a good ability to understand financial reports and final accounts, and have the determination and ability to be part of a successful site team. Ideally, you will have worked on traditional and design and build packages.
