Peabody has an exciting opportunity for two Lead Financial Accountants to join our team in London. The successful applicants will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £45,000 - £52,432 per annum.
When you join Peabody, you join an extensive and growing business. One with 29,000 homes, 80,000 residents and a 150-year history. As a major housing association we have outstanding challenges for people with talent and motivation. But we also have a strong commitment to the ideals of our philanthropist founder: George Peabody. That means you’ll have every chance to achieve – while making a difference.
Our principles are simple: we believe in helping people and communities to grow, in estates that are springboards – not safety nets. With operations in nearly every London borough and one of the sector’s largest community regeneration programmes, we’re always keen to meet talented people who support our ambitions.
A desire to improve innovation across finance has led to the creation of two new and exciting roles for Lead Financial Accountants (LFAs) to join Peabody.
The Lead Financial Accountant will be responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all financial reporting information for the Housing & Community Development business unit. Working closely with the Heads of Finance for Housing, Community Development, and Group, the successful applicant will provide leadership to direct reports and help drive the financial accounting agenda forwards through improved processes, systems, and controls to achieve best in class month-end and year-end close processes.
The role will include responsibility for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all financial reporting information, providing direction and leadership to a team of financial accountants, great exposure to the senior management team, involvement in ad-hoc projects and helping drive overall improvements in the finance sphere through improved processes, systems, and controls. The job specification is malleable, offering a challenging and interesting opportunity to develop both the specific role and personally over time through movement across the organisation, helping to drive change for the future.
