Duration: Full Time, Fixed Term Maternity Cover up to 51 weeks
Location: Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums Venues
Plan and implement a programme of informal participatory learning opportunities for a wide range of audiences, making use of the venues and collections of Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Qualification at degree level in a subject related to Aberdeen Art Gallery and Musuems collections, Education or Museum Studies.
Post holder will be required on occasion to work outside normal office hours to deliver activities and work successfully with target learners and audiences.
A full PVG certificate will be required.
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
Confident interaction with children, young people and learners of all ages and abilities.
Commitment to increasing access to cultural and heritage resources.
Proactive and creative in developing learning resources.
This is an exciting time to join the Learning team at Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums. The role includes the City's Collections and the venues which house them; Aberdeen Art Gallery - currently under redevelopment and reopening Winter 2017 - Aberdeen Maritime Museum, The Tolbooth Museum, Provost Skene's House and the new Museum Collections Centre.
This role focuses on the development and delivery of learning and engagement opportunities at the venues and within the wider community.
We are looking to recruit an arts education professional with a proven track record of public engagement and developing audiences.
