Acorn Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to work for their global food manufacturing client, based in Hartlepool. Our client is offering a competitive salary of GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 per annum for this position, working a day shift.To be considered for this position you will have experience of working in the same role, ideally in a food or clean manufacturing environment with an electrical bias & technical experience.Objective of positionTo direct and control all proactive and reactive maintenance activities for the allocated manufacturing equipment and facilities, ensuring that performance targets (quantity, quality, cost, safety etc) are either met or exceeded. To manage staff performance in the most efficient manner.Key Responsibilities:Responsibility for managing, leading and directing all staff reports. Manages all people matters, developing and supporting the team as appropriate e.g. motivating, delegating, performance management, coaching, appraisals, recruiting, and identifying and arranging job related and development training to ensure departmental compliance with regulatory standards, best practice, policies and procedures, Site Rules & Regulations or Company standards and to generate optimum efficiency and performance.- Monitoring all aspects of maintenance performance routinely. To investigate and remedy sub-standard performance.- Maintaining positive and effective working relationships internally and externally- Ensuring that food hygiene and safety standards are observed at all times within the maintenance team. To actively promote cost and quality awareness.- Ensuring that health and safety at work requirements are identified, communicated as necessary and adhered to, at all times, within maintenance. To actively promote safety awareness. To manage maintenance tasks so that the site complies with the all UK / EU engineering compliance requirements as well as internal systems requirements (Legionella, PUWER, LOLER, Electricity at Work, Pressure Systems Regs, Permit to Work, Hot Work etc). - Actively promote a culture of continuous improvement at all levels within the maintenance team.- Managing all aspects of the maintenance budget, spares ordering and stores control on a day-to-day basis.- Reactively support the site operational teams to root cause technical issues and implement corrective and preventative measures.- Managing external contractors, ensuring sign-off of completed tasks against an agreed standard, and compliance with all applicable internal systems requirements (risk assessments, method statements, Permit To Work etc).Qualification / skills: - Qualified to minimum HNC level in an electrical / mechanical discipline.- Significant Maintenance / Site Services experience.- Proven supervisory experience.- PC literate including being able to work with Microsoft (Excel / Word Powerpoint Project), - CAD at a basic level and CMMS systems at an intermediate level.- Demonstrable Health & Safety background.
