Modern Dalehead - Fresh Thinking! Dalehead is a division of Tulip Ltd, one of the largest meat processors in the UK. We operate five sites across the UK, supplying Waitrose with over 400 products, including fresh pork, bacon, sausage, cooked meats, lamb and added value products. Dalehead as a business boasts an impressive integrated supply chain, producing outdoor bred, free range organic food products for Waitrose. We are investing in innovation and are currently looking for talented people to join us on our journey to deliver our strategic plans. If you have a passion for the food industry and are looking for a great company to work for, then read on! Our Dalehead Foods division is pleased to announce key and exciting opportunities at our abattoir and butchery site in Spalding. Ideally multi-skilled with electrical and mechanical qualifications (certification evidence will be required) with experience of breakdown and preventative maintenance, the successful candidates - working with the Engineering Team Leader and the wider engineering team - will work on the day shift on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, ensuring production targets can be met by providing the appropriate technical support. The successful candidates will be highly self-motivated, have enthusiasm for achieving exceptional results and be able to work effectively both on their own initiative and as part of a wider team. They will also have experience of working with sophisticated meat processing and packing equipment and a clear understanding and awareness of legislative, health and safety and environmental requirements, ideally gained from a similar food processing environment. An understanding of continuous improvement would be an advantage enabling the successful candidates to work with the engineering team to drive the change from a "repair culture" to an "improvement culture" by enhancing equipment performance and reliability by coaching and developing technical skills and knowledge in the maintenance teams. A formal engineering apprenticeship and relevant academic qualifications to suit your experience is essential for this role as is proven hands on mechanical and electrical experience. We value our workforce and are fully committed to developing our people and allowing them to show their full potential. If you are as serious about food as we are and ready to help us make a difference, we would like to hear from you.
