Tax Manager, Guernsey, UK Tax and Compliance, Trust, Salary up to GBP95,000 Your new companyExciting Tax & Trust Group in Guernsey looking for an excellent Tax & Compliance Manager (Non Advisory) to join them in the Channel Islands in a permanent position.You will be tax qualified and have at least 8 years experience, 3 of which should at least be at a managerial level.You will already have a right to work in the UK as this application will not be able to support a Visa requirement due to licensing rules. Responsibility for the day to day control of the Guernsey tax department, together with the provision of direct support to the Directors and trust administration teams within Guernsey and other jurisdictions as and when required. Job Accountabilities The preparation, review and control of all tax matters affecting clients, whilst ensuring adherence to the relevant standards, in relation to all matters.Responsibility for overseeing and reviewing the tax compliance and advisory requirements of all UK and Guernsey tax-related entities, which may include highly complex situations, as required.Providing assistance with tax compliance and tax advisory work in Guernsey and to other jurisdictions and when required.Responsibility for compliance tasks for Guernsey entities including UK income tax returns, Guernsey tax returns, forms 50(FS), inheritance tax accounts, VAT returns, Annual Dwellings tax reporting, tax reporting to beneficiaries, FATCA Reporting and P11D reporting.Providing technical development which will be supported by external courses as and when required as well as through own research via a comprehensive tax library.Overseeing any ad-hoc client administration work undertaken by the tax team on an adhoc and regular basis as agreed by the operational Director.Liaison with clients and their professional representatives either directly or via the trust administration teams, as required, on tax related matters of varying levels of complexity.Play an active part in the setting of the tax department strategy and monitoring of the department's production budgets and to provide realistic and achievable fee budgets for all new cases or new tax work for a case, and monitoring performance thereon.Develop policies, procedures, methodologies and frameworks in the areas of tax planning, tax risk and tax compliance.Analyse and interpret data, identifying business issues and applying technical knowledge appropriately.Resolve ad-hoc technical queries that arise either as a result of on-going case reviews, directly from clients or from proposed transactions.Continued review of new technical developments and legislation; preparation of technical articles and/or letters to clients as required on relevant issues.Monitoring of work processes and adapting these where necessary with the involvement of the Operations Director.Attending client and potential client meetings as requested by the client relationship director or marketer.Training and supervision of junior staff with a view to creating a supportive environment and a "team approach" to the work in hand.Marketing the provision of the Company's tax services to source compliance and advisory work from external intermediaries for entities/individuals that may not be directly linked to entities under administration.Preparation and delivery of "in-house" tax training to staff members in the Company's relevant jurisdictions, as required.Review of financial accounts to ensure all tax filing has been completed.Advising on tax payment to HMRC and Guernsey Income Tax Office.Reviewing the Trusts prior to tax year end to highlight any tax planning opportunities.Writing tax articles on tax developments.
