We are currently looking for an English Teaching Assistant to join a large secondary school in South Manchester; the role is expected to offer exciting progression in a great school environment..

You will need to be a passionate and amiable English graduate who has achieved a 2:1 or above in your degree and a good understanding of the current curriculum. You will be able to bring together all positive aspects of your character and ability to produce tangible outcomes.

The role will be to support the teachers in the delivery of an exceptional curriculum and you will act as a role model to a highly engaged pupil population. You will aid teachers in class and you will be given responsibility with small groups and individuals to help build confidence and understanding. You will be tasked to intervene with pupils who are slipping in their attention and need support in reaching their potential.

As an English Teaching Assistant your role will involve you working across the entire school. In this post you will be working to help low ability pupils meet internal and external standards or to push gifted pupils to meet their potential in small or individual sessions. In general, you will be supporting EAL pupils through the academic and social elements of school life.
