Mission & role of the function*To achieve agreed volumes, revenue and profit objectives through efficient utilisation of assets*To manage and maintain stock levels within agreed limits*To achieve agreed safety, cost, profit, quality and service objectives.*To proactively identify and pursue opportunities to improve operational performance,*Provide leadership that drives the business to achieve its objectives and creates the conditions in which the team are motivated and high performing. *Act as Senior Site Representative controlling HAUK best interests during your Shift.Key accountabilities*Plan, co-ordinate and manage all site activities in a safe, efficient and effective manner*Manage the H&S aspects of the operation to meet and/or exceed legislative requirements and Company standards *Develop and manage improvements in the capabilities and competencies of all staff so as to deliver improved operational performance in all areas*Develop and implement new and improved operational practices in all aspects across the site without any detrimental aspect on H&S or production targets*Control and manage operating costs within all areas so that KPI targets are achieved or bettered. Report to business as required, weekly/monthly*Control of raw material stocks*Manage the site assets in accordance with our contract*Manage the safe and efficient operation of the site Jetty and shipping*Develop/implement opportunities for cost reduction and minimisation of waste*Liaise regularly with other parts of the business to ensure we maximise site performance. This to include commercial, supply chain, logistics etc*Undertake any relevant training as requested*Oversee the management of all HR related activities; this includes sickness absenteeism, lateness and discipline. Ensure that consistency is achieved so that the company isn't left exposed*manage the shift for all services during that shift and liaise with the project Logistics manager and of Marine, Bristol Port, Cement and John AndersonJob dimensionsThe production manager shares the responsibility in the meeting of all production targets whilst meeting all financial restraints outlined within the budget. The RMC budgets for the contract are not yet known however the value to HAUK for the services contract is circa ??1.6m over the 7 years but it has a ??100,000 per day penalty if we do anything wrong.Job requirements*We are looking for a flexible self-starter, with a concrete background*Experience in a high volume, high quality operation is preferred.*The job holder will have had previous Managerial/supervisory experience and have ideally completed some form of formal management/supervisory training*The role requires a high level of contact with internal/external departments and key customers therefore the job holder needs to have excellent communication skills and be able to develop good working relationships*The role requires effective resource management skills to ensure efficient operation of the process*The job holder needs to be able to combine production and operational capabilities and implement continuous improvement activities to deliver/exceed budget expectations*The applicant would ideally have a minimum of an IOSH certificate in Safety Management; however not having this would not necessarily exclude a potential candidate*Manage the shift for all services during that shift and liaise with the project Logistics manager and of Marine, Bristol Port, Cement and John Anderson*CSCS & CPCS certificatesThe role holder is expected:*to comply with all aspects of the Compliance Policy*to ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place*to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation*to update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required*to comply will all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company Education/Qualification*Good standard of education*Relevant operational experience. *H & S Qualification to IOSH *CSCS*CPCS
