We are currently recruiting for a permanent Nuclear Security Operational Support Manager, to be based at out Barnwood office in Gloucestershire.You will support the Head of Nuclear Security in developing, achieving and maintaining and effective security regime of the Nuclear Licensed sites, providing advice and support to ensure legal compliance with Nuclear Site Security Plans approved by the office of Nuclear Regulation.As the Nuclear Security Operational Support Manager you will supervise the work and coaching for development of all team members as well as lead in the development and preparation of nuclear security training and strategy including representation on the Fleet Security Capability Working as the lead on all security training matters.You will also be expected to lead in the development and implementation of emergency security response exercise strategy in terms of site specific, fleet and regulatory requirements.You will be expected to supervise and support all nuclear power stations in conducting their annual counter terrorist and joint safety and security regulatory observed exercises including identifying areas for improvement and best practice plus the Internal Assessment Team (IAT) lead for all ONR observed emergency security response exercises.You will also provide 24/7 cover (on rota) as the Nuclear Security CESC Duty Officer. Skills and Experience: * As minimum applicants will have a HNC (or equivalent) - candidates with a degree or higher may have an advantage. * As a minimum applicants must have SC vetting and is condition of employment - DV will be expected post securing SC vetting status. * Proven people and leadership skills demonstrating strong command and control behaviours when required and comfortable in high pressure situations. * Exemplary communication (both written and verbal) skills with the ability to assimilate pertinent information from a variety of sources quickly and to then recommend a clear course of action or solution. * Previous experience and knowledge from service in the armed forces, police or similar civilian environment (including civil nuclear industry) is essential, blue light experience highly desirable. * Knowledge and experience of relevant security regulations.
