Part of a major international group, this organisation is setting up a new manufacturing facility on a 'green field site' to produce complex castings for the automotive industry. As a Process Engineer your role will be to oversee and lead improvement activity for the manufacturing operations within a brand new production facility.

Position: Production Process Engineer
(Casting, machining, robotic assembly and material handling)
Salary: to GBP40000
Location: Telford, Shropshire

Reporting to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, the department is responsible for overseeing all production processes, post casting. This includes creation of process, delivery of tools, jigs and fixtures. Quality / data analysis and reporting of major issues will be a fundamental part of the role with the deployment of failure mode avoidance tools and supporting cross-functional teams in the resolution of those issues on projects. The completion of feasibility assessments to ensure Design for Assembly (DFA) and compliance with the Process will be critical in helping to deliver profitability for the business. Your focus will be on a key manufacturing processes including heat treatment, straightening, machining and cleaning, all controlled in a highly automated production cells incorporating the latest Robots and PLC automation.

Experience:
You will already have a proven track record working in a similar Process Engineer or Production Engineering role within a high volume manufacturing facility and some of the flowing attributes:
o Apprentice / HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject
o Experienced working with automated production lines incorporating Robots, PLCs, pneumatics ( ABB, Siemens S7 preferred )
o In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing/ Continuous Improvement methodologies and how to apply them in practice
o Confident hands-on approach to work & problem solving.
o Understanding of automotive systems & procedures.
o Knowledge of complex product assembly, machining, casting or stamping/ presswork production processes and related automated machinery (robots / PLCs)
This method of manufacture is unique and further training will be provided which will involve some overseas travel.
