We are looking for an Information Services Manager to lead and inspire a team of International Trade Advisers who will proactively research, engage with and deliver DIT services.
The post holder will also provide advisory and/or specialist consultancy services to SMEs looking at developing their export activity, in addition to their managerial responsibilities.
Please note this role is subject to Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) pre-employment screening.
Key responsibilities:
- With support from the Operations Manager and Managing Director, implement service standards and performance management systems
- Ensure all individuals within the team understand their objectives
- Motivate staff to deliver a service which has a tangible impact
- Act as a role model to the team in the implementation of best practice
- Provide clients with high quality consultative export advice
- Undertake preliminary analysis of information and development needs with clients
- Support the delivery of an extended hours DIT service
- Develop long-term client relationships
- Identify and refer to other internal services that would benefit the client
- Where appropriate, work with clients to develop strategic export plans, utilising EGS' ERDF project
- Ensure that all client information is captured and recorded on DIT's CDMS
- Support clients and record activity in a timely manner
- Ensure personal follow-up actions are taken within agreed timescales
- Keep abreast of enterprise / export / business issues, trends, legislation and regulation
- Take responsibility for individual targets, and contribute to key team performance targets
As a minimum the job holder will likely be educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent although commensurate service delivery experience and demonstrable export business knowledge are seen as more important.
You will need to demonstrate:
- Substantial prior experience working in a busy work environment involving customer service or similar
- Demonstrable experience of management and leadership for direct reports
- A comprehensive and practical understanding of the needs and dynamics of exports in SMEs/MSBs
- Demonstrable experience of telephone based business support
- Awareness of aspects of business support available
- Experience of using IT systems (including Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM data entry
You will be a team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to engage with people at all levels both internally and externally. You will be able to communicate effectively and provide appropriate solutions for clients and encourage progression of action plans. You will maintain a can-do attitude and demonstrate the ability to prioritise short & long term activities and multiple client and internal demands.
Remuneration: salary up to £42,036 pa, car allowance, 10.5% non-contributory pension, 26 days holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays, life assurance and income protection, participation in bonus scheme.
