Driving Change for Older People across Wales

The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales is an independent voice and champion for older people, standing up and speaking out on their behalf.

Role: Health, Housing and Social Care Lead

Salary: £33,800 - £41,050 per annum

Type: Full time, 12 months fixed term Maternity Cover, secondments welcome

Location: Cardiff

Accountable to the Director of Wellbeing and Empowerment, the Health, Housing and Social Care Lead will work with public bodies in Wales to drive up the quality of and access to health and social care services for older people in Wales.

The post holder will take a key role in undertaking follow up work linked to the Commissioner’s Care Home Review, analysing evidence provided by public bodies in relation to the Review’s Requirements for Action.

The post holder will also work with public bodies to increase knowledge and awareness of the issues that matter most to older people and make more rapid progress to providing a joined up, outcome focused service that has older people at its heart.
