We're seeking a qualified Teacher of Computer Science for a school in Manchester. The school are looking for a suitably experienced teacher to join an innovative and forward thinking school.

Overview of duties:

To teach Computing and I.C.T. within the Scientific Faculty

You will also be expected to contribute to the growth of this core subject area, being responsible for providing support, guidance and motivation to teaching staff and Learning Support Assistants.

You must also be able to contribute and share ideas and strategies that impact on classroom learning.

Specific Responsibilities:

Planning, preparation and delivery of curriculum

To evaluate the quality of teaching and learning, ensuring high standards of pupils' achievement,

Providing engaging and interactive lessons

Communicating with parents and carers over pupils progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events

Participating in and organising extracurricular activities, such as outings, social activities and sporting events

Preparing pupils for qualifications and external examinations


PGCE certification

Teaching experience of Computer Science to Key Stages 3 & 4

Excellent ICT skills and have experience with at least one text based programming language

Exemplary behaviour management and the resilience to overcome barriers to learning

Excellent organisational skills

An ability to promote effective teaching and learning

Enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility

Additional Information:

You must have experience of teaching to 11-16 year olds in the UK. Unfortunately, due to our strict compliance criteria, we are unable to consider applications if you haven't.

You must also live in the North-West area and be able to commute to Manchester on a daily basis.
