Purchase Ledger Clerk

Location: Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire
Salary: Competitive, DOE
Contract: full time, permanent (Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm)

We are seeking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team.

Oakwood is the largest provider of hazardous waste collection services to the UK's motor vehicle franchised network. Offering a wide selection of services, Oakwood is also the total waste partner to a variety of industry sectors. Located in Bilsthorpe Nottinghamshire, servicing customers located throughout the UK, Oakwood employs over 117 people and have ambitious plans for expansion.

The Role :

Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, you will ensure that all subcontracted purchase invoices are entered correctly and efficiently and you will reconcile month end supplier statements to the purchase ledger. Other key duties will include:

• Subcontractor purchase invoices to be entered into computerised accounting system correctly and efficiently
• Resolve queries with the Subcontract operational departments and suppliers
• Print monthly Sales invoices
• Advising on payment requirements to suppliers
• Reconcile supplier statements to the purchase ledger
• Assist other purchase ledger team members with purchase invoicing inputting.

Candidate Personal Attributes:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

• Previous experience of a computerised purchase ledger package
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Ability to work in a team
• Flexibility required in working with different divisions throughout the month, and the ability to proactively and efficiently organise the working day
• Well organised with good attention to detail
• Able to work under time pressure in busy working environment

Experience:

Experience within a similar sector is desirable, but not essential.
