We are working with a progressive, manufacturing organisation that has grown both organically and by acquisition who are looking to recruit an Assistant to the Management Accountant who will also be responsible for the complete payroll process. Reporting to the Management Accountant, duties will include:

* Taking responsibility for the review and completion of the management accounts for two of the trading entities
* Balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
* Working with other areas of the business to ensure accurate stock costings and valuation
* Preparation of monthly KPI and sales reports
* Processing the monthly payroll for approximately 100 employees including, SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP
* Completing P11ds and PSA at year end
* Taking responsibility for monitoring staff expenses including issuing floats, re-imbursement and associated administration and approvals
* Ad hoc reporting as required
* In addition - 2 days per month you will be required to visit the South West regional office

The ideal candidate will have held a similar position, have extensive payroll experience and the ability to process the payroll start to finish, including completion of the Payroll Year End. You will have an excellent understanding of debits and credits, with extensive balance sheet and journal entry experience. An understanding of stock (ideally in a manufacturing environment) would be highly advantageous, but training can be given.

You must have excellent people skills - it is essential that you can communicate across all levels of the company.

Ideally, you will be part or fully qualified AAT or studying towards CIMA/ACCA. Study support will be considered on an individual basis.

Sage Payroll and excellent Excel skills (pivot tables and V look ups) essential. Sage 200 experience would be advantageous.

You will have an inquisitive and analytical mindset, be proactive and strive to be the best you possibly can be.

The role is based in Northampton but within commutable distance of Daventry, Milton Keynes, Wellingborough and Towcester
