What will the role involve?

In this role you will lead and drive contract performance in terms of financial, quality and people, across the region. You will be a clear dedicated operational leader ensuring consistency in delivery and performance.

Some of the main accountabilities will include:

Full budget responsibility for the region, ensuring that the contract delivery team is supported in forecasting and planning activities across the area.
Work with the Operations Director to build the annual budgets and forecasts by providing meaningful MI.
Control budgets to ensure maximum utilisation of available resource.
Drive the performance of the nominated contract (financial & quality) across the region taking the lead in monthly contract performance reviews with the primes or other external stakeholders.
Drive the performance of all Centres in the region to ensure that all delivery team objectives, targets and KPIs are clearly set, reviewed and supported on a regular basis.
Drive the quality of the Centres ensuring grade 2 observations and a 5% error rate as a minimum standard.
Support the delivery team to ensure that their objectives are effectively cascaded to their teams, and put into action.
Development of the Business Managers to ensure they are performing and developing by conducting regular 121's, performance and business reviews to achieve operational excellence.
Day to day contract and business management to ensure acceptable levels of income and margin in line with forecast and implement processes to keep on track.
Ensure the Centre income and profitability is secured and delivered as budgeted by supporting the Business Managers in the production of relevant MI with the ability to identify both risks and opportunities by utilising KPI's and levers to keep the Centres on track.
Develop purposeful and constructive relationships with local and regional external funders to maximise income, introduce business opportunities and enhance the learndirect reputation and brand.
Work with the Business Development Team to build strategic local partnerships with LEPs and other external associates.
Benchmark performance with competitors, and other external organisations to gather market intelligence to enhance our competitive and market position.
Make a significant contribution to the business development, modelling and options generation for new bids and other strategic openings, identifying any potential or new opportunities.
Work with the Business Managers to ensure a culture of coaching and mentoring is embedded.
What skills, experience, and qualifications are we looking for?

Demonstrable management experience at a senior level within the Welfare to Work sector.
Knowledge of SFA ESF contracts would be useful.
Experience of end to end major contract delivery.
Significant track record in achieving contract income and profit against budgets.
Demonstrable budget, forecasting and planning experience.
Track record of customer relationship building and development.
Good understanding of both national and local political agenda within the Welfare to Work sector.
The ability to drive and maintain results through others.
Results orientated.
Exceptional communication skills.
