Maintenance Manager

Experienced engineering leader required to become the site Maintenance Manager and take full responsibility for a medium sized engineering team, 4 teams each working continental shifts plus site services and projects. The Maintenance Manager reports into the Chief Engineer you will take day to day responsibility for the effective delivery of a high quality engineering service to the operation teams.

As the Maintenance Manager you will be reporting to a Chief Engineer who is a time served engineer with extensive experience within the food industry, he has a proactive but process orientated approach, he is level headed, sees the bigger picture and is passionate and committed to delivering an excellent engineering service. He also believes in ongoing career and skills development and invests time and training into the engineering team.

Critical experience required for this role.

* Proven experience as an engineering leader, experience must include maintenance engineering progressing into a leadership and management role.
* Industry experience must include food manufacturing.
* Must have strong communication skills ability to understand business priorities, plan engineering requirements and communicate these to relevant departments and managers.
* Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Risk Assessments & Method Statements
* CDM construction design management experience advantageous

Summary of day to day activities:

* Ensure Health & Safety procedures and company rules/procedures are adhered to at all times, to maintain a safe working environment

* Ensure ongoing records are kept of Statutory Test Recording and Planned Maintenance
* Ensure all contractors working on site work safely with permit to work system
* Ensure quality/hygiene standards rules/procedures are adhered to at all times
* Maintain a planned maintenance system, that meets all the business requirements
* Maintain the master register of all plant and equipment
* Preparation of budgets and forecasts for your department
* Monitor weekly and monthly performance against agreed budgets for your area of operation
* Develop cost reduction initiatives, to drive efficiency and process improvements
* Develop the staff and teams in your area of control to meet the needs of business
* Develop and nurture an ethos of continuous improvement within the workforce
* Keep up to date with all relevant company procedures/changes and legislative/technical changes relevant to the customer base.
* Organise the Maintenance teams to ensure maximum plant and equipment efficiency downtime is minimised

* Ensure planned engineering tasks are delivered on time and in full
* Ensure employees are fully trained and competent in Mechanical/Electrical disciplines.
