CCA is delighted to be supporting our medium sized professional services client in central Manchester with the expansion to the HR department.

This is an exciting time for the company as it grows via business success and is currently expanding its operations and now HR departments in response to demand and growth. Our client is a leader in its field and operates a warm, open-plan office environment where collaboration and teamwork is the key. Their clients are mainly other companies who make use of our client's services across the UK and internationally.

The role of Payroll and HR Assistant will be based in my client's central Manchester head offices and will report to the Senior HR Advisor with a dotted line to the HR Director. You will be responsible for all matters pertaining to the company's payroll of approximately 300 employees but will also handle HR advice and administration requests as well as being exposed to wider HR initiatives and projects. As such, this role will be ideal for a strong Payroll professional who has embarked on the CIPD qualification and wishes to transition to an HR career in the long term.

In the role of Payroll and HR Assistant you will be responsible for the following:

* Administer benefits and pension data uploads and monthly benefits closure process
* Responsible for the timely and accurate maintenance of all the HRIS systems in regard to starters, leavers, salary changes, hours of work, change in terms, promotions etc...
* Ensure all HRIS data is up to date in relation to cost centres, departmental codes and reporting lines ensuring timely completion for the reporting of headcount
* Administer the HRIS and other tools in relation to access levels and security liaising with the Ceridian helpdesk as necessary to ensure the smooth running of reporting and payroll.
* Maintain the benefits system amending starters, salary changes, leavers, tax codes in a timely manner.
* Maintain payroll, season ticket loan and other HR Administrative Trackers in a timely and effective fashion to ensure accuracy of payroll data.
* Answer benefits and payroll queries as raised by employees.
* Support the HR Director in the P60 and P11d process on an annual basis.
* Review the company car log monthly and register P46 documents on the Government Gateway for company car changes.
* Annual calculation and update of the holiday allowances in the HRIS tool and communication to the individual employees.
* Compilation and issuance of contracts of employment and hire packs to new starters following offers.
* Administration of new starter documentation following acceptance including references are sought and immigration documents are copied and filed appropriately.
* Liaison with other departments (e.g. IT and Facilities) to ensure new hires are set up with system passwords and deliver induction training as appropriate.
* Log the return of appraisal, development plans and other associated documentation to ensure process is followed to required deadlines. Provide updated reports to the HR Advisors.
* Share responsibility for delivery of HR induction presentations with other members of the HR Team.
* Scheduling of exit interviews for the HR Advisors.
* Respond to reference requests including employment references for past employees and mortgage references.
* Administer maternity leaver benefits and payroll changes through the maternity period as required by the Senior HR Advisors and HR Director.
* Issuing of change in terms, probationary review, contract and leaver letters as required, using set templates as directed by the HR Team in response to submission of Starter and Leaver forms.
* Working with the Senior HR Advisors, ensure all employee files, HR filing systems and documentation are appropriately filed, catalogued and archived as appropriate in a timely and accurate manner.
* Manage the general "HR" inbox (if being used), redirecting non-admin queries to the relevant member of the HR team accordingly.
* Ensure HR elements of the internal intranet system are kept regularly up to date.
* Make recommendations for improvements to systems, processes, procedures, documents and forms in an effort to continually improve HR Service to the business.
* Support the ISO9001 and other accreditation processes by ensuring adequate preparation, implementation and adherence to procedures and process as required.
* Project work as may be reasonably required by the HR Director.

To be considered for this position you will ideally have at least two years of relevant payroll experience, ideally using the Ceridian payroll system, and a strong understanding of HR, or part-completion of a CIPD course.
