An exciting opportunity for a Production Manager with a small, highly successful company in its seventh year of trading, planning for the next stage of its expansion. Headquartered in Hungerford with rapidly growing development and technical facilities in London and Cambridgeshire, the Company develops and delivers cutting-edge integrated online transport management solutions, selling both hardware solutions and related hosted software services.

The successful candidate will be based in Cambridgeshire and responsible for the planning, co-ordination and control of manufacturing processes with its manufacturing partners in the UK, and potentially offshore. Ensuring its products are manufactured efficiently, in the correct volumes and at the right cost and quality.

Playing a key role in helping keep pace with the rapid growth of the customer base and hardware solutions, you will be a positive, resourceful, innovative and energetic person who can make a real difference to the products and services provided.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the production process to ensure the production schedule meets the sales plans.
- Develop and manage a production strategy that drives down costs whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Ensure the necessary procedures and documentation are in place to allow tracking of stock through the supply chain from supplier to customer.
- Stock control and planning, enabling accurate records that reflect stock movement through all parts of the business.
- Ensure production is cost effective and quality standards are maintained.
- Develop a cost reduction plan involving UK and potential offshore production partners.
- Identify production resources required to maintain growth forecasts.
- Ensure the after sales support has the necessary level of product spares and parts.
- Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programs.
- Liaise among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers, support.
- Work with managers to implement company policies and goals.
- Supervise and motivate the production partners.
- Review performance and report to senior management.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the production of electronic products.
- A degree or HND in a related subject area is beneficial, not essential provided the candidate can show relevant experience.
- Proven planning and organisational skills to be able manage and monitor the production process.
- Ability to work with a degree of autonomy, to act decisively and solve problems with our production partners.
- Strong negotiation skills for getting materials within budget and at the right time.
- Have a full current driving license and use of a car.

Package:
- Bank holidays plus 23 days annual holiday allowance.
- Basic hours 9:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch break.
- 3 month probationary period with regular reviews through the period.
- Annual Salary £45,000 - £55,000 subject to candidate's experience.
