We're looking for a skilled machinery operative to maintain and operate our horticultural equipment including tractors, road sweepers, skip carries and telehandlers. The team assists with the development of high impact horticultural displays at Kew and provides support for projects and festivals throughout the year.
The main responsibilities of the role will be to ensure that daily maintenance checks are carried out on horticultural machinery and that we are providing a safe environment for staff and visitors.
You will also be involved in supporting the practical maintenance of plant collections by delivering organic materials, removing compostable material, and assisting colleagues with recycling and sustainability tasks.
A full clean driving license is required for this position, as is the ability to work outdoors in a small team and occasionally alone. You'll need to be fit and able to operate the machinery, and a good communicator.
