PA to Director and Administrators of the Cambridge Graphene Centre

The mission of the Cambridge Graphene Centre (CGC) is to investigate the science and technology of graphene, carbon allotropes, layered crystals and hybrid nanomaterials. The Cambridge Graphene Centre also hosts the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Graphene Technology. The CDT works closely with industry to ensure that successful students are properly equipped to follow careers in both industry and academia.

We are seeking an experienced PA to provide a comprehensive PA service to the Director of the Cambridge Graphene Centre and Centre for Doctoral Training, as well as to the Centre's Administrators to enable them to carry out their administrative and academic duties. In particular, the role-holder will be responsible for the efficient organisation of the diary of the Director, which will require him/her to respond and act in a timely and efficient way to at least 50-100 emails/phone calls per day, organise meetings (including catering), set up conference calls, greet visitors and guests and direct them to the appropriate meeting. The role-holder will also liaise with all CGC and CDT members to make sure the relevant people are present at meetings, conference calls, etc.

The role-holder will act as the first point of contact for enquiries to the Cambridge Graphene Centre,  and Centre for Doctoral Training, interpret incoming information (often of a confidential nature), sift, summarise, prioritise and convey onwards, and research, retain and retrieve information required for meetings, as appropriate. 

The successful applicant will be educated to at least A level standard and have excellent administrative and organisational skills. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and to organise and prioritise a wide range of tasks.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
