HR Manager (School)
This role is fixed term to cover maternity. The anticipated start date is 6th February 2017.
We are looking for an experienced HR professional with a proven successful track record in providing HR advice and support within a busy and complex environment.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience working as an HR professional in a school or other educational setting, or within a public sector organisation. The successful candidate should be willing and able to manage the HR function within the organisation, to include transactional and transformational tasks. Transactional tasks will include recording and tracking staff absences and maintaining the school's Single Central Record, used for safeguarding and Ofsted purposes.
Although we are a school, we operate year round services and therefore we are open during school holidays meaning staff get annual leave to take flexibly across the year.
Pen Green is comprised of one of the largest fully integrated nursery schools and children's centres in the country; Pen Green Research Base, which delivers professional training and higher education courses for everyone involved in early years; and in April 2016 we merged with Kingswood Children's Centre and recently opened a community nursery on the site.
Across the organisation we employ 120+ staff; we also employ casual staff and have a volunteer programme.
Educated to degree level or equivalent
CIPD qualified (or working towards)
Practical experience of working as an HR professional in a large complex organisation
A proven track record of successful HR management e.g. redundancy/disciplinary/ capability processes
A proven track record of providing high quality HR support and advice
