Packing Operatives

Gap personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for Packing Operatives for our Client based in Somerset. Our client is a well established, independent food production company, whose aim is to ensure their products are produced to the highest possible standards and dispatched by the correct time, while maintaining an excellent reputation and high level of customer service. The roles within this position are to ensure that the products are weighed, packaged, stored and despatched for customers to receive and for the consumers to enjoy. The main responsibilities will consist of: ??Move products as they become ready for different stages of the production and packing process ??Work as part of a team on a packing line to portion and wrap products ??Pack wrapped product into bulk packaging for transport ??Ensure products are appropriately and accurately labelled ??Ensure work areas and equipment is kept clean ??Accurately complete any associated administration Previous experience is desired but not essential, full training is provided. This is a temporary on going role that offers 40 hours Working days are varied. Additional hours are available at certain times but cannot be guaranteed. Hours are varied according to business need, typically during seasonal promotions (including the period before Christmas), so some flexibility is required. Training will be provided to ensure that you will be multi skilled, providing variety of work for you and flexibility for the company. Periodically, there may be opportunities for progression to supervisory roles such as Line Leader or Team Leader. This role pays an hourly rate of ??7.47 rising to ??7.86 after completion of training and probation.
