2016 is a particularly exciting time to be working at BMW Hams Hall. With the introduction of new manufacturing facilities, we are now seeking to recruit a Maintenance Shift Manager.
BMW Plant Hams Hall is an integral part of BMW Group's global engine production network, manufacturing fuel efficient, low emission engines for BMW and MINI vehicles sold around the world. As part of a large investment programme, we have installed brand-new facilities to enable the production of future generation engines.
This is a fanatic opportunity for a passionate M&E maintenance professional with project management experience and an exceptional leadership style to join a leader in automotive excellence.
As the Maintenance Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities at our state-of-the-art facility in Hams Hall.
Leading by example, you will ensure that volume output is maintained, as well as supporting planned maintenance activities and taking ownership of any breakdown situations.
You will manage all staff related matters, including developing your team’s abilities, effectively delegating work and maintaining morale to ensure that tasks are performed to the highest standards.

To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A maintenance background, including both mechanical and electrical experience
- Experience of managing maintenance teams in a high volume manufacturing environment, including absenteeism and disciplinaries
- Project management experience
- The ability to develop presentations and use MS Excel to analyse data
- Complex problem solving skills and the ability to use tools such as fishbone and root cause analysis
Analytical, focused and pragmatic, as the Maintenance Shift Manager, you must have excellent communication and listening skills. You must also have the ability to multi-task and the confidence to present to C level executives and groups in high pressured environment.
Please note, there are two positions available working different shift patterns, one covering the day shift during the weekend and another working a three rotating shift pattern.
