Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service has an exciting opportunity available for a Youth Officer to join the team based at the Joint Fire & Police HQ in Ripley. This is a full time, permanent role, working 37 hours per week. The successful Youth Officer will receive a competitive salary of £20,456 - £24,717 per annum.

Working as part of the Prevention & Inclusion department, the main purpose of the youth team is to develop and deliver innovative high quality youth projects, to reduce anti-social behaviour whilst creating opportunities for personal, social and educational development.

As an experienced Youth Officer, you will use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with individuals, manage complex case work and collaborate with partner agencies to safeguard and support young people. Knowledge of issues affecting young people is essential to allow you to develop projects and support the departmental strategy.

An NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work or equivalent or demonstrable experience is essential.  As our Youth Officer you will be required to work and travel around the county for which a pool car will be provided.

The normal working week is 37 hours to be worked flexibly, including some evening and weekend working to support the current youth projects.
