Capita Education Recruitment are currently looking for a bright, friendly and experienced SEND teaching assistant to work alongside children of primary and secondary school age who have Severe Learning Difficulties. In order to do this role effectively you will have: * A positive outlook to work, coupled with a vibrant personality and the ability to work with Severe Learning Difficulties as a teaching assistant * The ability to build rapport rapidly with colleagues and children alike * Previous experience working in a busy school or care environment where team work and willingness to get involved and be pro-active is crucial * Enthusiastic personality with a passion for working in a challenging yet rewarding environment. * A flexible approach and be able to work with different children from session to session * Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desired but not essential * A Makaton qualification and be able to use it within your daily routine at the school would be advantageous The environment: Our school caters for approximately 74 children who are primary/ secondary aged. The school takes in children who are all statemented with Severe Learning Difficulties and some additional needs such as Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. This is a intense yet rewarding environment where all learners have the opportunity to learn and work in a safe and understanding environment where staff work together to create a positive and warm comfortable setting.
