Do you aspire to be the teacher that a student remembers later in life as the person who really helped them to achieve? Are you an experienced Teacher who is looking for a break from a traditional teaching role? We are looking for somebody who is able to engage with a student on a 1:1 basis and is passionate about helping to make a difference.

Our client is looking for a qualified and experienced teacher in the Saffron Walden area to teach a Year 10 student on a 1:1 basis. The student has challenging behaviour, cognition, possible Autism and is an anxious school refuser. As such, the successful candidate should have strong behaviour management skills and be able to adapt their teaching to the students learning requirements.

You will be required to teach 15 hours per week (consisting of 5 x 3 hour sessions between Monday and Friday - the sessions will be during School hours and will be held at the students home). We are looking for somebody to start ASAP.

Due to being an immediate start, it would be advantageous (but not essential) if you have a DBS currently on the online update service.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced teacher to move away from mainstream education, it also offers:

- Flexible working hours (to be agreed with the students parents) where you can travel after the rush hour
- A chance to be creative with your lessons and to base them around one students interests rather than having to cater for a full class.
- The chance to gain experience working with a student on a 1:1 basis
- The opportunity to make a real difference to a students life, hence gain great job satisfaction

There is also the possibility moving forwards to increase your hours from part time to full time ? if that is what you are looking for

Our client delivers individual specialist education programmes to young people who are facing difficulty in accessing education.

The children they provide a service to are out of mainstream education for a variety of reasons and include children with special education needs, those in care homes, those with challenging behaviour and those who are under achieving and in need of specialist support.

Please send your CV to Greg Burns. Greg is our dedicated SEN Consultant and will be happy to guide you through each step of the process from your application, right up to starting work with the student.
