Junior Logistics Planner

Our client, a fast paced and rapidly growing logistics business based in Leicester, is currently looking to recruit a Junior Logistics Planner on a permanent basis.

Training:

There will be a comprehensive training scheme provided. You will start off working within the admin team, learning the role from the ground up.
You will then start to transition into the planning team. By the end of the training period you will be independently planning a small team of drivers which will increase as your experience and abilities grow.
As the business grows and your skills develop there is significant scope for further advancement.


Duties:

* Liaising with clients and customers regarding:
Collection location
Delivery destination
Collection & Delivery date and time

* Planning drivers' days
* Liaising with drivers via telephone and messaging system
* Dealing with queries and solving problems on a minute by minute basis
* Traffic planning
* Communicating the Senior Planner's instructions to the drivers
* Other ad-hoc duties


Sector experience is not essential, but you must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

* The ability to work in a high pressure & fast paced environment
* The ability to solve problems independently and think on your feet
* Be flexible, organised and able to prioritise
* Administrative experience
* Strong I.T skills, experience of working on a Cloud based system would be advantageous.
* The ability to use your own initiative.
* Be a team player.

Hours 8.30am - 6.00pm (60 mins lunch)

Salary £20,000 rising to £22,000 on successful completion of probationary period. With scope for further advancement as the business and your skills develop.
