Field Services & Emergency Response Team Member 1
1x permanent and 2x 18 month fixed contract
£16,608 per annum | Tolgus Depot, Redruth

As part of our Operations Field Team you'll help to maintain our river and coastal defences within the catchment.

You'll assist in delivering our routine maintenance programmes by carrying
out all types of asset repairs, construction work, grass cutting, weed cutting, tree works and blockage removals.

You'll also be part of an emergency call out rota responding to flooding and environmental incidents. Health, safety and wellbeing is very important to us so you will follow procedures and complete risk assessments for the work that you undertake.

The West Cornwall Field team is based at Tolgus, Redruth. We deliver a maintenance programme on rivers and watercourse across the area, we respond to flooding and environmental incidents both day and night. We provide advice and support to our colleagues in Asset Performance, Hydrometrics, Biodiversity and Environment Management.
We also work across the country when called upon to assist other areas in incident response and environmental incidents.

You should demonstrate a positive adaptable approach and a ‘can do'
attitude as a worthy team player. You'll need to have previous experience of working outdoors in all weathers.

Good organisational skills and a proven ability to work under pressure during incidents are essential.

You must understand site health and safety requirements and you'll need good communication skills to work with customers and partners. We would like you to have a good level of environmental awareness, experience with tablet style computers and familiarity with mobile technology will be useful.

Experience of working with plant and machinery and a foundation of practical skills like concreting and minor construction work would be an advantage.

A full UK driving licence is essential as you will need to travel to different sites. You will need to respond to incidents quickly and so ideally live within approximately 30 minutes of the Tolgus Depot. Standby and on-call
work is required.
