Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: Upto GBP32,000 dependant on skills and experience plus excellent benefits

The Mobile Network Specialist is responsible and accountable for:

- Test Preparation and Execution as a functional expert for a program or a defined set of programs under Vodafone UK network domains.
- Applies knowledge of the enterprise, business system and mobile network technologies to the project team, supporting or interfacing with their program/project client, vendor and NEP teams.
- Ensures test project deliveries meets customer expectations as well as industry and product standards.

What responsibilities will you have?

- Responsible for Requirements Gathering, Analysis, Test preparation, Execution, Test Planning and Scheduling
- Responsible for Defect triage and Test status reporting to Customer.
- Responsible for mobile network quality validation and handling the technical quires or issues.
- Provide SME support for Vodafone UK mobile network domains, technology and vendors.
- Ensures that deliverables meet the appropriate project/program, development, and quality standards
- Manages client expectations and understanding of the contractual and commercial requirements for their area of responsibility. Provides and implements business-focused solutions in fulfilment of contractual obligations.
- Responsible for coordinating performance and optimization analysis

Qualifications

What skills & experience are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates with skills in one of the following domains:

CS

Must Have

- Strong Knowledge on 2G and 3G Radio and Core technologies.
- Working knowledge in telecom nodes like MSC/MSS, HLR/HSS.

Nice to Have

- Protocol Knowledge SIGTRAN/SS7 mainly like SCTP, ISUP, TCAP, M2PA, M3UA, MAP, SIP and BICC.- Troubleshooting and debugging skills using tools like Wireshark, and knowledge in MGTS tool. NTH
- Knowledge of Diameter protocol, TEMs tool - nice to have
- Knowledge on OSS solutions like NMS( Configure Management, Alarm management etc)
- Test Management Tools: HP QC.

PS


Must have

- Knowledge on GSM, GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA, LTE and IMS technologies
- Hands on GSM, GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA, LTE and IMS message validation.
- Hands on experience in Unix (Solaris/Linux)

Nice to Have

- Protocol Knowledge NAS, Diameter, GTP, SIP
- Hands on about tools like Wireshark, TEMS and QXDM.
- Knowledge of Telecom Radio (RNC, BTS, BSC) and Network (MME,SPGW, IMS) Nodes.
- Knowledge of different Mobile Platforms - Symbian, Android, Blackberry OS etc.
- Knowledge on OSS solutions like NMS( Configure Management, Alarm management etc)
- Test Management Tools: HP QC.
- RAN/Transmission
- Good working knowledge of PDH, SDH, ATM, Ethernet, IP, TCP, VPNs, routing & firewalls, IPSec, SIP, VoIP, Synch (SynchE, 1588), HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, TELNET, SSH, FTP
- Good working knowledge of Signalling System No. 7 (SS7), SIGTRAN
- Good working knowledge of 2G, 3G, 4G and VoLTE technologies
- Good working knowledge of Nodes, Interfaces and Call flows/bearers in each technology
- Hands-on experience of testing and debugging of Transmission and RAN networks
- Good working knowledge of SGSN (Cisco), GGSN (Cisco), MSC, Media Gateway, MME, SecGW

What academic qualifications do you need?

Graduate of any Engineering course, preferably Computer Engineering or Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE). Information Technology
