New opportunity not to be missed. NFER is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Compliance Officer to join the team based in Slough. Joining us on a full time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £40,360 - £45,425 depending upon qualifications and experience.
This is a permanent, full time opportunity, but a part-time working arrangement will be considered.
NFER is an independent research organisation undertaking projects in all sectors of education and committed to the continued improvement of education and training for all learners.
We are seeking to appoint a Compliance Officer to help us to manage our compliance with key Information Security and Data Protection requirements. We are looking for someone who likes to develop and implement new procedures, who enjoys working with people at all levels and, importantly, has a genuine interest in learning more about compliance matters.
The Compliance Officer will:
- Coordinate activities in relation to gaining and maintaining ISO27001 working with expert consultants, our Head of Data Security and our IT team
- Help to develop and monitor compliance with our own procedures
- Maintain risk assessments and help to manage actions to reduce risk
- Help to plan how we will comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Deliver training and help others with compliance issues
The successful Compliance Officer will have a degree, excellent organisational skills, the ability to assimilate and translate requirements into real processes and a genuine interest in developing their own specialist knowledge of Information Security and Data Protection. They must have good people and influencing skills, with the ability to understand concerns, listen effectively and broker agreement across teams. Good presentation skills are also a key requirement.
