Hours: Permanent position, 40 hours per week, 0800-1700 Mon-Fri
Holiday: 28 days including public holidays
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 negotiable depending upon experience

This company is a well-established specialist supplier of building materials to the house-building industry based in Reading, Berkshire.

Position overview
They are looking for a talented and competitive Internal Business Development Executive that will thrive in a quick sale cycle environment. The successful candidate will play a fundamental role towards achieving the Company's realistic revenue and growth objectives.

This will involve extensive use of the phone, making multiple calls per day following up proposals, closing sales, generating interest and qualifying prospects. In addition, the role will also include face-to-face selling at their Trade Counter, advising and serving customers who come to purchase and collect goods.

The role will be closely supported by their Customer Service Team, with all external sales visits being handled by the Sales Director.

Qualifications and Experience
- minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role with all aspects of sales covered.

- Proven internal sales experience
- Strong phone presence with experience in making multiple calls per day
- Proficient in use of IT and web based media
- Experience working with Sales-I or similar CRM
- Track record of exceeding KPIs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong listening and presentation skills
- Proactive at database building and lead generation
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise with effective time management
- Knowledge of the Building & Construction Industry an advantage

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Follow up and close sales on quotations and enquiries
- Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, outbound calls, emails, social media etc.
- Ability to understand and satisfy customer requirements, aiming to exceed expectations
- Route qualified opportunities where necessary to the external sales team for further development and closure.
- Committal to achieve and exceed monthly KPIs
- Research existing accounts, identifying key players and generating further interest
- Maintain and expand current database of prospects
- Face-to-face customer interaction through sale at the Trade Counter
- Encourage and generate new customers and trade footfall to the Trade Counter
- Conduct and manage weekly sales meetings.
