Cover Supervisor
35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time, Plus 1 week)
Grade H4, SCP 17 - 20: Salary £14,770.81 - £16,123.40 pa Inclusive of Fringe Allowance
This academy wishes to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working, highly organised, flexible, helpful and efficient individual for the above position. They are looking for someone with a passion for continuous improvement, high expectations and very high standards of performance.
The Cover Supervisor will oversee classes of students aged 11-16, for which work has been set by a qualified teacher. The main job purpose is to maintain good order and to keep pupils working productively. Good interpersonal skills and an understanding of adult-child relationships are essential. This is an interesting post in which every day is different and personal initiative is required, as are good communication skills, effective planning and a proactive approach.
You will have a passion for continuous improvement, high expectations and very high standards of performance. This opportunity will excite those who believe that anyone can excel and that everyone deserves the best.
The academy is 20 minutes by train from London Euston. It has a strong vision and ethos which has led to a rapid expansion in student numbers and impressive examination results. In December 2013 Ofsted judged the academy to be 'Good' in every category, while the Education Business Awards recognised them as an 'Outstanding Academy'. They are a case study with the Department for Education twice over, and have been recognised for their good practice by both the Office of the Schools Commissioner and the Local Authority. They are consistently in the top 20% of schools nationally for pupil progress and, most importantly, students and staff at the academy share a commitment to its success and are "Proud to belong".
The academy has an active wellbeing committee and was recognised in 2015 with the Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Award. All colleagues benefit from free gym membership, Employee Assistance and also have the opportunity to exchange ideas and develop their careers through the Meller Educational Trust.
