The Role

Reporting to the Purchasing/ NPI Manager the Project Manager will liaise with a cross functional team responsible for the technical management of multiple projects and launches.

The role is responsible for coordinating and supporting all Purchasing activity in relation to all NPIP activity.

You will also be responsible for:

* The co-ordination involves the delivery of the New Product Introduction Group Purchasing Policy and SOP's

* Ensure scope and targets of the new programme (s) is understood and communicated to the various Purchasing Teams

* Long lead time tracking- constructing a drawing release plan to supporting the overall timing requirements and to project manage the long lead time parts

* Supplier Performance & include development plans

* Identify appropriate suppliers to participate in pre award feasibility reviews in order to gain an understanding of the technical capability of the supplier

* Complete of supplier Non Disclosure Agreements for specific programmes.

* Support Engineering with the Fit for Purpose Sign off procedure

* Assess suppliers 'risk' on new programmes, agree the list of suppliers requiring either passive or active APQP

* Identify appropriate suppliers to participate in the Supplier Operational Sign-Off process and the associated procedure in order to carry out the activity.

* support the target creation process and report the consolidated status, the progress and the cost saving opportunities throughout the launch of a programme.

* Identify appropriate suppliers to participate in the Launch process and manage any associated risk identified following this activity.

* Prepare the papers for gate reviews

The Person

Essential:

* Project Management

* Automotive industry

* Strong PPAP &APQP knowledge

* Have previously led or managed change

* NPI background

* Working in a matrix organisation

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills

* Proven negotiation knowledge

* Presentation ability

* Financial Awareness

Desirable:

* Educated to degree level (Business or Engineering preferable)

* CIPS

* Supplier Relationship Management

* Engineering or Design understanding

* Customer focussed background
