Geodata Analyst

The successful candidate will be working in the Data Team.

Position Overview

?? Automate and develop, new and existing data processing procedures.

?? Geographic data processing, management, update and maintenance.

?? Documenting processes.

?? Liaise with customers and the customer support team to provide technical support

?? To ensure that the company complies with all COU/Data delivery scheduling.

?? Data sourcing, cleansing and integration.

?? Quality assessment and testing.

?? Performing research and analysis generating insight.

Essential main job functions:

?? Perform Data processing.

?? To ensure that the company complies with all COU/Data delivery scheduling.

?? Maintain/add data to product stack and online services (WMS/WMTS)

?? Automating routine GIS operations, e.g. for existing/new products

?? Liaise with customers regarding data delivery and provide technical support

?? Assist Customer Support/Sales with queries

?? Assist in preparing quotes for sales

?? Responsible for monitoring the data dashboard

?? Liaise with partners and suppliers

?? Report bugs and any other technical problems

Day to day activities will include:

?? Monitoring the data inbox.

?? Monitor dashboards

?? Answering the phones.

?? Manual data processing of a diverse range of geographic datasets.

?? Producing polished and professional outputs.

?? Performing analysis and generating valuable insight.

?? Documenting processes as they change and evolve.

?? Pre- and post-sales technical support.

?? Working closely with clients.

?? Liaising with internal team member in order to exchange knowledge and to best meet clients' needs.

?? Developing and automating routine GIS operations e.g. for existing/new products

?? Process any outstanding orders that require manual intervention

?? Apply any outstanding COU updates

?? Update aperture (COU logger)

?? Liaise with customers regarding data delivery and provide technical support

?? Assist in preparing quotes for sales

?? Report bugs and any other technical problems

?? Review and evaluate current processes and operations.

Financial responsibilities:

Personnel, training and development:

?? Knowledge share within team

?? Be available to train new members of the team as and when required

?? Provide ongoing GIS training to other parts of the business

Sales and marketing responsibilities:

?? Be available to fulfil any marketing requirements (such as map production/samples/demos)

General Administration:

?? Update Aperture (data management tracking)

?? Maintain any other scheduling records (STW etc.)

?? Update Rally (project management)

?? Answer phone calls and emails in relation to sales enquiries.

?? Website testing and bug reporting.

?? Preparation of case studies and demonstrations.

?? Participate in both regular and ad-hoc technical and team meetings.

Experience/qualifications required:

?? Experience in below software/OS:

- PostGIS/PostgreSQL

- QGIS

- FME

- ESRI ArcGIS

- Linux basics

- Geoserver

- GlobalMapper

?? Time/priority management skills

?? Degree in GIS/Geography or experience in similar industry

?? Good level of IT skills

?? Knowledge and experience of working with a diverse range of datasets, software platforms and datatypes.

?? Experience of working with Excel.

?? Experience of working with big data.

?? Experience of manually processing complex datasets.

?? An understanding of what the client expects, what they want to achieve, and how they're going to get there.
