Our client, the not-for-profit research and technical advisory wing of the INGO, have an exciting opportunity to work with them on Disaster Risk Reduction.
They support governments (national and sub-national), donors and practitioners in disaster risk reduction, disaster preparedness, early warning systems, hazard mitigation and disaster risk management. They work to bring experience and best practices to scale through their consultancy services, whilst collaborating with cutting edge research to bring external best practices back to our client.
In this role you will use your knowledge of disaster risk reduction to support cutting edge research (eg into landslide early warning systems in South Asia) or to support learning and development of guidance for practitioners and donors (eg on climate information services in Africa). You will build relationships with clients, partners and associates and work closely with the Lead Consultant for Disaster Risk Reduction in developing DRR strategy, working collaboratively with colleagues and partners internationally, focusing on research, innovation and impact at scale.
They are looking for an energetic and committed individual, with experience of disaster risk reduction in the context of international development and a track-record of research, project management or consultancy work. You will be joining a growing team, with a strong project portfolio, in an organisation with a positive and engaging culture, where there is a real focus on training and career development.
