A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Production Shift Supervisor to join a rapidly expanding company. The successful Shift Supervisor will ideally have previous experience of managing a team and have held a position of responsibility within a manufacturing environment. Earning a salary of £25,000 to £28,000 depending on experience plus additional benefits, you will be based in Chard, Somerset.

The role of the Shift Supervisor is a front line role which involves managing Shift Leaders and Factory Operatives to achieve key business measures. Following continuous growth; a position has become available for a Shift Supervisor to join the front line management team in one of the prominent assembly departments. The role of the Shift Supervisor is a front line role which involves managing Shift Leaders and Factory Operatives to achieve key business measures. The main responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that Shift Leaders and Operatives are trained for all tasks and procedures.
- Ensuring that teams always work to the required Health, Safety and Quality standards, whilst working to continuously improve on them
- Making sure that all products are processed in compliance with orders, specifications and deadlines whist ensuring the quality of finished products
- Efficient day to day operation of the shift
- Overseeing and managing the performance of Shift Leaders and Production Operatives to achieve targets in areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Improvement
- Liaising with all relevant departments and employees clearly and effectively, to ensure production schedules and targets are met
- Carrying out regular 1:1s and bi-annual appraisals with Shift Leaders, reviewing performance to target and providing clear and structured feedback
- Managing performance and behaviour issues, ensuring adherence to company procedures
- Countermeasure operational problems related to Safety, Quality and Productivity
- Excellent communication and IT skills, being numerate and literate
- Knowledge and experience of improvement and quality tools and techniques
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexible and adaptable
- Good awareness of safety at work
- Understanding of the role of quality
