A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a well-established and leading international manufacturer of cleaning equipment. Based in Chard, Somerset, the successful Production Team Leader will join the company’s Production Supervisory team to earn a salary of £23,000 to £26,000 depending on experience, plus additional benefits.

At present the company employs over 1000 people at its manufacturing site in Chard, Somerset. The position for the Production Team Leader is a front line role which involves leading a team of Factory Operatives to achieve key business measures. As a Production Team Leader your core duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Being responsible for the quality of product produced within your area through management of and compliance with quality systems
  • Improving and maintaining high levels of quality on all output
  • Day-to-day activities, including start up communications, organising people, parts and process
  • Allocating and prioritising tasks and activities to ensure the completion of orders to satisfy customer demand, maximise productivity and ensure daily production targets are achieved
  • Contributing towards achieving and maintaining high health and safety standards
  • Promoting continuous improvement and as part of the team, proactively seeking new and improved methods of working to increase efficiency in the overall production process
  • Proactively identifying potential roadblocks, working to present solutions to overcome them and implement permanent preventative actions
To be considered for the Production Team Leader position you must have previous demonstrable experience of leading a team within an assembly or manufacturing environment. In addition, you must have the following key skills and experience:
  • Proven experience in leading a team
  • Have previously held a position of responsibility within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Self-motivated, team player
  • Target driven and results focussed
  • An effective change agent

Additional information: Continuous internal training programs; nationally recognised externally provided courses.  To date these have included CIEH Levels 2 and 3 (Health and Safety), NVQs in BIT (Improvements) and ILM Levels 2 and 3 (Leadership).
