Senior Information Governance Officer BLUS42734
Birmingham
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience

Our Client is a leading national provider of retirement housing and care services for older people, mainly those aged 65 and above. They are a not-for-profit organisation and operate in over 150 local authority areas – managing around 19,000 Retirement and Extra Care apartments and providing over 80,000 hours of care each week to more than 31,000 customers. They deliver affordable, contemporary, person-centred care and housing that meets individual needs, improves wellbeing and promotes independent living.
They now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Information Governance Officer to join them where you will provide and maintain a robust information governance framework. Joining the Internal Audit and Risk department, you will deliver legal compliance, meet business needs and improve the overall information governance environment.
Working across the business to understand and mitigate risks around the storing of, access to and sharing of information, you will respond to adverse incidents as and when they arise. Reviewing and updating related policy and procedure documents, the role involves developing and embedding our information governance framework and strategy whilst also leading on the continuous improvement of organisational culture and performance.
They are looking for someone who has graduate level educations with experience in Information governance or data protection. With previous experience in undertaking data protection audits, you will be able to prepare and deliver professional reports and presentations.
Candidates will have comprehensive knowledge of standards relating to information security and legal/regulatory framework for data protection within a medium to large organisation. This includes ISO27001/27002, Cyber Essentials, ISO31000, Data Protection Act 1998, Health & Social Care Act 2012, IG Toolkit, and Common Law Duty of Confidentiality.
Experience within the housing or adult social care environment is desirable, but what is essential is that you are customer and service quality focussed. A team player who is self-motivated, you will have excellent attention to detail and a willingness to speak up and challenge to improve how we work.
