Our client is a market leading Financial Services business who are now seeking to take on board a dynamic and innovative Fleet and Travel Procurement professional to join their fast growing team based in Manchester. The successful applicant will help establish and implement a supplier and purchasing strategy, review the spend across the company within Fleet and Travel departments. The job holder will play a key part in formulating and implementing the commercial strategy throughout the business and ensure regulatory procedures and policies are adhered to. Major duties will involve as follows:

* Develop procurement policies and procedures, review expenditure.
* Pro-actively work with departmental budget holders, project management office and the wider procurement team to rapidly identify and prioritise major procurement opportunities.
* Lead management of the commercial relationships with suppliers, working with procurement and the wider business.
* Undertake a review of the existing procurement process and then implement continuous improvements
* Develop relationships with key business stakeholders and suppliers to facilitate dialogue regarding contractual performance.
* Develop and deliver a framework to enable the business manage their active suppliers in order to maximise performance.
* Ensure Procurement is engaged and governance is followed for new spend and/or where legal terms are changed under the contract.

Experience and abilities required:

* CIPS
* Private Sector experience, preferably Financial Services
* Minimum 3+ years in a procurement or similar role
* Meticulous planner with a close eye for detail
* Strong knowledge of best practice control framework for procurement processes and management of outsourcers
* Proficient in contract terminology and ability to work with Legal department on contracts
* Experience within Fleet or Travel Procurement
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Excellent communication and influencing to develop strong relationships internally and externally
* Able to prioritise and allocate time effectively
