National Account Manager

We are an innovative, independent and ambitious provider of greeting card solutions to the convenience / independent sector.

We are searching for an experienced National Account Manager, with a proven ability to drive growth through the development of new and existing customers.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role is a key position within the business and would suit someone with ambition and drive, who is looking to demonstrate they can take a lead in profitably developing our customer base. The role includes people management responsibility for the business development team as well as personal responsibility for a portfolio of major accounts.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of the convenience / independent sector (ideally within the greeting card market)
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, creative with a passion for delivering customer service.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation abilities.
  • A proven negotiator -well planned, credible, persuasive and tenacious.
  • Independent self-starter who can work effectively within a wider team.
  • Competent in MS Office.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a “can do” attitude

Key Roles

  • Manage and develop existing and new national accounts.
  • Develop and implement business plans to achieve annual targets.
  • Produce meaningful forecasts and budgets.
  • Control, manage, direct and coach the business development managers.
  • Attend networking events.
  • Attend exhibitions.
  • Present and report competitor and market intelligence and sales updates to the business.
  • As a member of the leadership team contribute to the creation of commercial and operational strategy.

  • Location: West Yorkshire with national travel
