Our company client is a widely known retail FMCG business with a turnover of £68 million who are currently seeking to hire an ambitious and highly skilled Business Development Consultant to join their exciting team based in Manchester (or London). The post holder will be working within the Client Relations team, based in either Manchester or London and will ensure developing a portfolio of clients within the Retail FMCG space across disciplines including Digital & Marketing, Supply Chain & Procurement and Accountancy, promoting the business products externally, strengthening relationships and identifying growth opportunities.This is an exciting opportunity for career progression.

Job overview:

* To further business develop a pool of target clients within the Retail FMCG space that we have identified and, in many cases, have started relationships with across a number of disciplines such as Digital & Marketing, Supply Chain & Procurement, and Accountancy.
* The aim is to approach and meet with target clients throughout the UK to open up new opportunities as we drive into this new market. If there is an existing relationship we are looking for the Business Development Consultant to cross-sell across all relevant teams in the most effective way and make sure we are working in the way the clients expect from the outset.
* This is is a fantastic opportunity with great potential for an ambitious individual looking for a role that will offer enormous personal growth and development as well as visibility and impact, this role will suit an existing Recruiter looking to move into a qualitative client relations role or an existing Account Manager/Business Developer.

KEY AIMS:

* improve financial performance across the existing portfolio and grow their client portfolio
* strengthen client relationships and improve the client experience

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

* Research and analyse existing key clients - spend (perm/contract/total), volume, time-to-hire, performance ratios, strength of relationships, rules of engagement, disciplines currently recruited to, etc to understand how our performance has tracked over the past 12 months;
* Against our past performance, and
* Against the client's other suppliers across each discipline
* Develop a portfolio of circa 20 clients to target for increased revenue generation. Understand each client's perception of OJA, where improvements can be made and ensure the consultants on each account are working in the way that each client wants to engage with us
* Identify growth opportunities in new clients, new disciplines and new geographic regions through working with Consultants/Managers and their clients.
* Drive client networking and entertainment events between HR / Line Management & OJA teams
* Manage, coordinate, give written content to and review all PSL tenders, advising on relevant marketing material, driving new testimonials, etc
* Act as the client liaison for dispute resolution and complaints in some cases

Main competencies and skills required:

* An experienced consultant looking for a move into a qualitative client relations role, or
* An existing Account Manager
* You will be a goal orientated individual
* Have the speed of thought to spot angles to up-sell and cross-sell
* You will need to be a team player and yet capable of operating autonomously
* Possess high level of verbal communication skills
* Have a confident approach
* An innate desire to be successful and a willingness to make the commitment that this role requires as well as the resilience to deal with the inevitable challenges that a sales role brings
* A track record of high achievement in previous roles
